Yeouido
Parliament, a river park and a big mall on one island
Yeouido is an island in the Han River that holds South Korea's parliament and many of its financial offices. It works well as a half-day, with the riverside park, the cherry-tree road in April and two large malls.
Yeouido Hangang Park is free, open 24 hours and about 213 m from Yeouinaru Station exit 3. It has bike rental and, in summer, an outdoor pool. The fireworks festival is held there each autumn.
The National Assembly offers free guided visits, but you need to book online and bring ID. Sessions run on weekdays and Saturday mornings. The cherry blossom road, Yunjung-ro, runs about 1.7 km along Yunjung-ro with roughly 1,800 trees and peaks in early to mid April.
The Hyundai Seoul and the IFC Mall are indoor options for a rainy day. The 63 Building is no longer the old aquarium and observatory it was. Aqua Planet 63 and the 63 Art observatory stopped operating on June 30, 2024, but 63 Sky Picnic is open on the 60th floor and Centre Pompidou Hanwha is in the annex, with its main galleries closed from October to mid-November 2026.
